Dinas SDA DKI Keruk Lumpur Kali Sekretaris di Kebon Jeruk

Sekretaris River in Kebon Jeruk Dredged from Mud

Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency conducts Gerebek Lumpur in the Sekretaris River, Kelapa Dua Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, on Thursday (10/15).

Sekretaris River is the main river also as the water flows from upstream through here towards the Cengkareng Drain

According to Juaini Yusuf, Agency Head of Jakarta SDA, the total length of the Sekretaris River dredging this year was 2,300 meters. It is an advanced stage after previously being carried out in the Sukabumi Selatan Urban Village area.

"In the stage I, we focus on the West Jakarta border segment up to Jalan Panjang which is 1,600 meters. As planned, the second stage is 700 meters from segment of Jalan Sasak III to downstream. We'll do the best thus it can be complete within the next few weeks," he told, when he visited the mud dredging location on Jalan Sasak III.

Dividing Wall Between Sekretaris River and Gendong River Repaired Permanently

To optimize it, his side had involved 150 personnel of SKPD assisted by the local urban village PPSU plus 10 trucks and 4 excavators.

"The depth of the river will return to its original two meters and sheet pile embankments will be made at several points," he told.

It aimed to secure the upstream area thus the flow to the downstream was smooth according to its slope.

"Sekretaris River is the main river also as the water flows from upstream through here towards the Cengkareng Drain. It is prone to flooding, as it is sunken. That's why we do a routine maintenance in order to accommodate water in large quantities," he stated.
